D-dimer Kit
The Hzymes D-dimer Kit is a cutting-edge diagnostic tool for rapidly and accurately measuring D-dimer levels in blood samples. This kit provides clinicians with essential information to assess and diagnose conditions such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, aiding in timely and effective patient care.
The Hzymes D-dimer Kit is a cutting-edge diagnostic tool designed to provide accurate and rapid detection of D-dimer levels in clinical samples. D-dimer is a fibrin degradation product found in the bloodstream, and its measurement is crucial in assessing and diagnosing various medical conditions, particularly thromboembolic disorders like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
Intended use
This reagent is used for the quantitative determination of D-Dimer in human plasma in vitro for auxiliary diagnosis. D-Dimer mainly reflects fibrinolytic function. Increased or positive is seen in secondary hyperfibrinolysis, such as hypercoagulability, disseminated intravascular coagulation, kidney disease, organ transplant rejection, thrombolytic therapy, etc. It is of great significance for auxiliary diagnosis and treatment of fibrinolytic system diseases (such as DIC, various thrombosis) and diseases related to fibrinolytic system (such as pregnancy syndrome).
Principle
When latex bounded with anti-D-Dimer antibodies reacts with the antigen in the sample, agglutination occurs. This agglutination is detected as an absorbance change which is proportional to D-Dimer concentration in the sample. The actual concentration is then determined by a calibration curve prepared from calibrators of known concentration.
Transportation and storage Storage stability:
The unopened reagent is stored at 2~8℃, validfor 18 months; After opening, the reagent wasstored at 2~8 ℃ under the condition of nopollution and valid for 1 month.Reagentscannot be frozen.
Transport stability: Reagents should betransported at 2~8℃ under cold storage.
Sample requirements
- This kit is only suitable for testing humanserum or plasma samples. During testing, blood samples without
anticoagulant should be separated into serum. Plasma samples may be treated with heparin sodium, EDTA, or sodium citrate anticoagulants.Clinical samples must be tested within the same day after collection. If the measurement cannot be completed on the same day, please do the following storage: storage at low temperature (2-8 ℃) under dark conditions for 7 days; storage below -20 ℃ for 6 months; Avoid heating inactivated samples and hemolysis samples should be discarded. Samples must be restored to room temperature before testing. Refrigerated samples should be completely melted, restored to room temperature, and mixed evenly before use, and repeated freeze-thaw should not be avoided.
Applicable instrument
Hitachi 7180/7170A/7600 automatic biochemical analyzer, Abbott C16000, Di Rui CS-400B, OLYMPUS AU640 automatic biochemical analyzer.
The D-dimer Kit, such as the Hzymes D-dimer Kit, has a wide range of applications in the field of medicine and healthcare. This diagnostic tool is primarily used to measure the levels of D-dimer in a patient’s blood. D-dimer is a breakdown product of fibrin, a protein involved in blood clot formation and dissolution. Elevated D-dimer levels can indicate various medical conditions, making the D-dimer Kit a valuable tool in several clinical scenarios:
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Diagnosis: D-dimer testing is commonly used to aid in the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis, a condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of the legs. Elevated D-dimer levels may suggest the presence of a clot, prompting further imaging tests like ultrasound for confirmation.
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE) Assessment:PE occurs when a blood clot travels to the lungs, potentially causing life-threatening complications. D-dimer testing can help assess the likelihood of PE, although it is not diagnostic on its own. Elevated D-dimer levels can trigger further evaluation through imaging techniques like CT pulmonary angiography.
- Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC):DIC is a complex and serious clotting disorder that can occur as a secondary condition in response to various underlying diseases. Elevated D-dimer levels can be indicative of DIC and aid in its diagnosis.
- Monitoring Anticoagulant Therapy: D-dimer testing can be useful in monitoring patients who are on anticoagulant therapy (e.g., warfarin or direct oral anticoagulants). Regular testing helps healthcare providers assess the effectiveness of the treatment and adjust dosage as needed.
- Assessment of Thrombotic Risk: D-dimer levels can also be used as a marker of overall thrombotic risk. High levels may suggest an increased risk of clot formation, prompting preventative measures or further evaluation.
- Evaluation of Suspected Clotting Disorders:D-dimer testing may be part of a battery of tests used to investigate unexplained bleeding or clotting disorders. Abnormal D-dimer levels can provide valuable diagnostic information.
- COVID-19 Diagnosis and Prognosis:During the COVID-19 pandemic, D-dimer testing gained prominence as an indicator of disease severity and thrombotic risk. Elevated D-dimer levels were associated with more severe COVID-19 cases and helped guide treatment decisions.
- Research and Clinical Studies: D-dimer measurements are often used in research studies and clinical trials related to coagulation disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and other medical conditions where blood clotting plays a role.
It’s important to note that while elevated D-dimer levels can suggest the presence of clotting or fibrinolytic activity, they are not specific to any one condition. Therefore, D-dimer testing is typically used in conjunction with clinical evaluation, medical history, and other diagnostic tests to guide healthcare decisions accurately. The application of the D-dimer Kit can significantly impact patient care by facilitating early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of clotting disorders and related conditions.
